Surprising smoothie blends
I was pretty happy with my almond milk-flaxseed-banana-blueberry-celery smoothies, but store-bought almond milk has some not-so-great ingredients I’ve been avoiding (carageenan & various gums) and flaxseed doesn’t sit well with me digestively. I expected that smoothies lacking any sort of milk would be pretty blah, but I’m glad I took up the ole blender again today, and whipped up a celery-kale-frozen blueberry-kiwi smoothie with about 3-4 ice cubes. Surprisingly thick, and the kiwi really cuts the strong flavor of the other greens to a nice, palatable tanginess. I poured half of the blender contents into a Popsicle mold to test how it tastes frozen- TBA!
